Alexander Mooney is a writer and programmer with a BA in Cinema Studies. He is a contributor to In the Mood, Exclaim, In Review Online, Screen Slate, and Cinema Year Zero. During his final year at U of T he was one of the programmers for the Cinema Studies Student Union (CINSSU), where he curated and introduced public screenings for their Free Friday Films and WTF Wednesday series at Innis Town Hall.

He is especially interested in explorations of sexual repression (bonus points if it’s queers pre-1970) and loves films which plumb the power and pleasure of looking and being looked at, but will happily settle for anything that’s worth looking at in the first place (death to Prestige TV Lighting).

He lives and works in Toronto.
